Automated IR Polarizer for Molecular Spectroscopy
MicrOptik offers polarizer for a wide variety of spectroscopy applications which are available in automated version. The polarizer are mounted in a standard 2" x 3" slide mount and are compatible with all FTIR spectrometers. Polarizer elements are 25 mm in diameter and, with mount, have a 20 mm clear aperture.
MicrOptik automated polarizers provide necessary specifications plus they are fully computer controlled, making many previously labor-intensive applications feasible. With the automated polarizer an analysis program can be set up through software to automatically collect all spectra.

Polarizer control the plane polarization of the light beam in a spectrophotometer. The unpolarized light emitted by the spectrophotometer's lamp is partially polarized by the instrument optics when it reaches the sample. The alignment, age, selected spectral bandwidth, and the photomultiplier used will all affect the polarizing characteristics of a spectrophotometer.
